Center for American Archeology

The Center for American Archeology is an independent non-profit that has been researching past people of the lower Illinois River Valley and teaching thousands the discovery of archeology. Our Museum, housed within the historic Kamp Store and listed on the National Register of Historical Places, features exhibits highlighting our research of prehistoric people who once lived in Calhoun and adjust counties. We also have an exhibit that documents the more recent history of Calhoun County, the Kamp Family, and the historic Kamp Store. Admission to the Museum is free. Come see this beautiful, historical building and the archeological exhibits held within.
